Volunteer Position Overview
About This Position
Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery is located adjacent to the Missouri River near Yankton, South Dakota. The facility has been producing fish for sport fishing and restoration projects for nearly 60 years. It is one of 70 federal hatcheries and fish technology centers operated nationwide by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Primary need for this position is for weed whipping, debris pickup, and mowing using a zero turn mower. The hatchery, aquarium, and area around the hatchery residences is approximately 5 acres of lawn which needs regular maintenance. Other duties may include aquarium bld opening and closing and restroom cleanup if skillset is favorable.
RV Pads - There are two camping pads at the hatchery complete with water, sewer, electric hookups and Wi-Fi.
