Overview
The giant anole is similar in proportions to A. cuvieri, which is found on the mainland of Puerto Rico, except that the head is more slender and pointed, and the body is larger overall. The male anole specimen described in 1931 had a body length of 16O milimeters. The color of this specimen was described as brownish-gray with two light lines on each side, one from ear to groin, the other from shoulder to groin; a distinct light spot on each temple; eyelids yellow; fan gray except lower rear quarter which is light yellow; tail yellowish brown; and underside whitish (Grant 1931).
