Friends of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

The Friends of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1990 as a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization to support the mission of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Visitors can purchase field guides, books, t-shirts, hats, and refuge souvenirs from the Nature Store located inside the Richard S. Bolt Visitor Center near Folkston, GA. Store sales along with donations are used to support the conservation, education, and visitor services at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.

Partner Category

We partner with these groups to help them conduct their commercial activities in a way that best promotes conservation.

Friends groups are organizations of community members committed to helping national wildlife refuges and national fish hatcheries meet conservation goals that would otherwise be out of reach.

Here we partner with a wider variety of other organizations on projects to meet shared conservation goals.
