They partner to grow a restorative economy by rebuilding healthy ecosystems, restoring habitat for plants and wildlife, and reconnecting our border communities to the land through shared learning.
They work primarily in southern Arizona and northern Sonora, a region defined by four focus watersheds. These transnational watersheds – Upper Santa Cruz, Sonoita Creek, Upper San Pedro, Whitewater Draw including Turkey Creek, and San Bernardino – cover traditional Apache, Ópata, and other indigenous lands.
While much of their work takes place within these watersheds, they have several projects and partnerships west with the Tohono O’odham Nation, east into New Mexico and Chihuahua, south to Hermosillo, and north into central Arizona.
