Vehicle Operator, Charles Hood conducted a Hatchery Tour for 18 students and staff from a university group from Iowa, and hosted by the University of North Georgia. The students were introduced and shown the lifecycle of the Rainbow Trout from a sac fry, fingerling and as an adult. Students where shown the daily operations of animal care taking that included, cleaning of the raceway areas and feeding. Students participated in a question and answer guide through out the hatchery with some very thought out questions. Questions ranged from required education of a biologist, environmental effects, mortality rate and goals of the hatchery. One student asked a question of Charles that he had never heard asked before, "What is the most rewarding thing that you have gotten out of your job at the Hatchery?" His response, " To see all the expressions of joy, happiness, and excitement on the faces of kids, seniors, veterans during our Fishing Rodeos, Especially our Special Needs Rodeo!"
