About Kirsta Scherff-Norris
Kirsta began working for the US Fish and Wildlife Service in 2023 as a Biologist in the Mountain-Prairie Region. Prior to joining USFWS, Kirsta was the wildlife biologist for a large municipal utility where she was responsible for wildlife protection, including federally listed species and migratory birds. Kirsta most enjoys combining wildlife biology with inter-agency and stakeholder collaboration to achieve species and habitat protection. Two such projects included protecting the only known population of a federally threatened species and balancing natural and cultural resource protection with recreational interests in opening a 10,000-acre property to public access. Kirsta holds a BS in wildlife biology and an MS in ecology, both from Colorado State University.
