Summary of the Delta Creek Pool Dam Removal Project

The completed cultural resources assessment for the Delta Creek Pool Dam Removal Project at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. The project involves the Delta Creek Dam and its related structures, including two culverts on Delta Creek Road or Route 405.

The project location was documented with photos taken on November 3, 2023. It is subject to review under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).

The proposed work includes:

  1. Removing about 100 feet of the dam embankment down to the natural level,
  2. Dismantling the water control structure structure
    Something temporarily or permanently constructed, built, or placed; and constructed of natural or manufactured parts including, but not limited to, a building, shed, cabin, porch, bridge, walkway, stair steps, sign, landing, platform, dock, rack, fence, telecommunication device, antennae, fish cleaning table, satellite dish/mount, or well head.
