Savannah Restoration

A mechanical brush shredder removing juniper (Juniperus spp.) to reduce canopy cover and restore savanna conditions in a brush encroached area of the San Carlos Apache Reservation. These mechanical brush shredders are followed by chainsaw crews to remove any remaining stems and apply herbicide to cut stumps.
