Lakeside daisy is an extremely rare threatened plant, that requires very specific habitat only found in a few places in the world. They need dry, rocky prairie with limestone underneath and full sun exposure. The largest population in the U.S. is found at a limestone quarry in Ohio near Lake Erie.

The plant picture is an adult plant that is relatively young. Plants usually don't flower until they are 2-3 years old and usually just a few flowers the first year. Young leaves and stems are slightly hairy.
