Forest fires in Quebec resulted in smoke seen during survey in May 2023

There was a lot of smoke seen by pilots during the May 2023 Waterfowl Breeding Population and Habitat Surveys. The Alberta forest fires resulted in smoke the majority of the month, and this picture was taken by a pilot on a return trip to Maine through dense smoke from the forest fires in Quebec.
