The staff of the Pacific Region Fish Health Program is composed of a mix of veterinarians that specialize in fish health, and non-veterinarian fish pathologists. Veterinarians are experts in pharmacology, drug regulations, and disease processes, and they have a strong focus on animal welfare issues. Our pathologists are likely to have more training in fisheries biology, hatchery management, and the subtle interplay of hatchery systems and fish health.
